Pin messages on WhatsApp
WhatsApp can Pin messages inside chats. Users can choose how long their pinned message should last with a drop-down.
Currently, the ability to pin messages in WhatsApp is available in WhatsApp Android, WhatsApp iOS and WhatsApp Web.
Multiple admins and Channel Alerts for WhatsApp Channels
WhatsApp added the ability to invite and add multiple admins to WhatsApp channels. Newly added admins can also view other active admin’s information like phone number, profile picture and name.
Additionally, WhatsApp also added a Channel alerts feature for WhatsApp channel admins. This will give a heads-up to admins if the shared posts are violating WhatsApp community standards.
Currently, the ability to invite admins and channel alerts for WhatsApp channels are available to all channel admins.
WhatsApp will look like Instagram if you share a channel post into the status
WhatsApp added an Instagram-like status-sharing experience with auto-created status posts and a view channel chip on the top. This will let users quickly jump to the relevant channel post for reference.
Currently, this feature is available only for some WhatsApp testers and the quality is still worst.
WhatsApp testing a new way of sharing status
WhatsApp is testing a new top-create status button layout to create text and media statuses for WhatsApp Android quickly.
Currently, the top status layout is only being tested with WhatsApp beta testers.
Minor changes spotted in WhatsApp Android
New video message shortcut
WhatsApp is testing a new video messages shortcut for Android.
Some new Avatar stickers for WhatsApp
WhatsApp added some new Avatar stickers to the Avatar sticker pack.
New reply bar for WhatsApp statuses
WhatsApp is testing a new reply bar for reply status updates. This might let users quickly respond to status updates.
New icon for WhatsApp status privacy settings
WhatsApp for Android added a new settings icon for status privacy settings.
Additionally, Now users can also share device audio while sharing screens in video calls in Android.
Changes spotted in WhatsApp Web and WhatsApp for Windows
Finally, users can post WhatsApp status with Web
WhatsApp added the ability to post status updates from WhatsApp Web. Users can use the dedicated + button to create a text and media status.
WhatsApp filter chips for WhatsApp Web
WhatsApp testing filter chips for quickly filtering chats in WhatsApp Web. Users can choose between various filter options like All, Unread, Contacts and Groups.
WhatsApp for Windows new toggle to disable text to emoji feature
WhatsApp for Windows added a new toggle to disable or enable replace text with emoji feature which will automatically replace text with relevant emojis.
Unlimited Google Drive backup for WhatsApp is going away
WhatsApp started showing banners within the app backup tab to reflect the change that WhatsApp Android is going to stop offering unlimited Google Drive backups; Instead, all the backups will consume your Google Drive storage limit.
