New selection page with numbering on WhatsApp

WhatsApp is testing a new selection tab with numbering. This will be more user-friendly than the old selection tab since users can easily know the order of selection.

Currently, the selection page with numbering is being tested by testers and is expected to be rolled out to everyone soon.

WhatsApp getting quick sticker suggestions

WhatsApp is testing quick sticker suggestions. This feature will suggest stickers when the user add an emoji.

This will include various stickers from all the users’ saved and downloaded stickers in addition to Avatar stickers.

Currently, quick sticker suggestions are being tested within some testers and are expected to roll out to everyone soon.

Now you can link the device with your phone number in WhatsApp

WhatsApp rolling out the ability to link with phone numbers. This feature will let users use their mobile numbers for linking devices instead of QR codes.

Once you select Link with the phone number you will get a code on your primary device and you can type it out in the new device and that’s it.

Currently, the Link with phone number feature is available only on WhatsApp web and Android. Soon, will be available to every other platform as well according to WhatsApp.

Phone number privacy feature in WhatsApp

WhatsApp gets a Phone number privacy feature which shows whether the phone number is hidden or visible in a community.

Currently, this feature is available for testers and soon will be rolled out to everyone.

Full width chat page & reactions in WhatsApp communities

WhatsApp is testing a full width chat page for community announcements. This will be a good touch since announcement pages are focused on one way communications.

Additionally, WhatsApp also introduced reactions for communities where users can react to the announcements posted.

Currently, these new WhatsApp community changes are being widely rolled out to everyone.

Official WhatsApp chat

WhatsApp started to test a official chat that announces latest features, tips and announcements about WhatsApp as a chat.

Currently, official WhatsApp chat is being tested around testers and expected to rollout to everyone soon.

WhatsApp increased the video call starter participant limit

WhatsApp testing the ability start group calls with 15 participants. Previously, the limit was kept as 7. Users can still add up-to 32 people by sharing a call link.

This is being widely rolling out to everyone around the globe.

Now you can search with phone number on WhatsApp

WhatsApp added the option to search with phone number and users can also start chatting without saving to contact.

Currently, search with phone number feature is being tested among testers and expected to roll out to everyone soon.

Some minor changes spotted in WhatsApp

WhatsApp replaced the Avatar icon from the emoji keyboard

WhatsApp replaced the avatar icon in emoji keyboard with users avatar.

WhatsApp introduced some new tweaks when creating a group

Creating groups became more user friendlier than ever with the new controls and shortcut to add participants

Additionally, WhatsApp also testing the ability to forward to a new group as well. This will let you instantly create a new group while forwarding a message.

WhatsApp expanding MaterialYou within the app.

WhatsApp added MaterialYou theming around the application and as part of that improvement WhatsApp added a redesigned security notifications page.

Additionally, WhatsApp also started to expand the rounded corners throughout the application as well.

Reaction notification control on WhatsApp for Windows

WhatsApp added a new notification setting for WhatsApp desktop (UWP) to let users control their reaction notifications.

WhatsApp for Windows is getting new sidebar icons

WhatsApp for Windows (UWP) got a redesigned side bar with “Archive” and “Favorite” icons.
